A woman who was abducted in Zwide on Sunday returned home safely on Monday night.
According to the Hawks in the Eastern Cape, the woman, a Chinese national, was abducted by two men from a business on Sunday afternoon.
In an earlier statement, the Hawks said the woman's husband and some staff were busy with customers in the shop when the assailants arrived and abducted the woman.
Their getaway vehicle was later found abandoned on Klaas Street.
According to information the woman, who was held at a roofless house in Mbeki Street, managed to free herself after being bound with cable ties.
She was able to get assistance from neighbours, before her family and friends were called.
Police investigations are continuing.
