Police members in Komani are urging members of the community to come forward with information to assist them in locating the parents of an abandoned baby.
Spokesperson Captain Namhla Mdleleni says the perfectly healthy child was found by a passerby on the 1st of April at the toilets of a local petrol station.
She says the infant was wrapped in old blankets and appeared to be in good health.
Police are investigating a case of child abandonment.
Captain Mdleleni says the baby was taken to a local hospital and found to be healthy and unharmed.
