Six people, including a child, were killed when a minibus taxi lost control and hit a barrier on the N2 near the Van Stadens River bridge outside Port Elizabeth early on Sunday morning.
The Eastern Cape Provincial Traffic Department says 9 others were seriously injured and taken to Livingston Hospital.
Two more people were killed in another taxi accident on the R61 near Mthatha late on Saturday evening.
The Department says a Toyota Quantum collided head-on with a bus.
Two people in the minibus were killed instantly, while the driver of the bus sustained serious injuries.
