Twenty-one people were killed in accidents on Western Cape roads this weekend.

Provincial Traffic Chief, Kenny Africa says in the latest incident on Sunday, three passengers on a bus died on the N1 between Laingsburg and Touws River.

He says the bus and two trucks were involved in the accident.

Africa says 52 drivers were arrested for drunk driving.

He says the highest speed recorded was in Worcester, where the suspect drove 156 km/h in a 120 km/h zone.

All those arrested are expected to appear in court soon.
