100% Black-owned ICT company to open in EL

Trade and Industry Minister, Rob Davies, will this week officially open a Black-owned ICT company in the East London Special Economic Zone.

The Department said that Minister Davies will showcase the state of the art electronic manufacturing technology at Yekani Manufacturing, a 100% Black-owned ICT electronics and manufacturing company.

DTI said Minister Davies will also elaborate on the creation of the much-needed Employment in the Eastern Cape at Tuesday’s launch.

According to Minister Rob Davies, the department has already approved 102 Black Industrialists for financial support and 48 companies received market access support, eight of those are located in the Eastern Cape.

Minister says the Black Industrialist programme remains vital to rebuild, remove trade barriers, modernise and improve prospects of growth for majority black-owned and managed manufacturing companies in this economy.

DTI said that the Black Industrialist Scheme is a grant programme of the Black Industrialists Policy that aims to unlock the potential within black industrialists operating in the South African economy through deliberate, targeted and well-defined financial and non-financial interventions.
