A Durban medical student has died in China, after falling seven storeys while leaning over a balcony to speak to friends.
Mujahid Desai, a first-year student in Wenzhou, lost his balance, but managed to hold on to the railing for a few seconds, before falling on Monday.
The 19-year-old teenager was taken to hospital, but died hours later.
Desai was studying at the Wenzhou Medical College in Zhejiang province as there was no place for him at a medical institution in South Africa.
His parents, Idis and Zaida Desai, have traveled to China to bury their son.
