At least two emergency medical personnel were killed in a large explosion at a fertilizer plant in the US state of Texas on Wednesday night.
Initial reports indicated that between 60 and 70 people were killed and hundreds injured.
According to media reports, firefighters responding to the scene, were also injured in a secondary blast.
The cause of the explosion is not immediately known.
Meanwhile, US authorities have denied media reports that an individual had been arrested in connection with Monday's bombings at the Boston marathon, but police say they do have images of a suspect.
