A search is underway for four South Africans who are believed to have drowned in Mozambique earlier this week.
The Department of International Relations and Cooperation says the group left the country last Saturday and were reported missing on Monday.
Spokesperson, Ndivhuwo Mabaya, says they are in contact with the South African High Commission who is working with local authorities to provide assistance to the families who have arrived in the country to help them search for their loved ones.
Mabaya says the Department is offering the necessary counselling services to the families from Limpopo, as the search continues.
The four South Africans went swimming in the Portuguese Islands when they allegedly got caught up in a rip current.
The Minister of DIRCO was briefed on the latest efforts of the rescue efforts and will be offering the necessary assistance.
