The South African mother and qualified medical doctor who emigrated with her family to Nie-Zealand in 2021 has been found guilty of murder.
Lauren Dickason killed her three young children in their home in Timaru just 20 minutes after her husband left for his new job as a surgeon in a nearby hospital.
Liané (6) and two-year-old twins Karla and Maya were suffocated by cable ties around their necks and then smothered with blankets when the first attempt did not succeed.
Dickason also tried to take her own life.
The jury, consisting of eight women and four men reached a majority verdict.
The NZ Herald reports that some jurors broke down weeping when Justice Cameron Mander discharged them.
Dickason's parents who were also present at court were comforted by her lawyers who also burst into tears.
She remains in custody until her sentencing.
