The Australian airline Qantas has scheduled a repatriation flight to Australia this month giving South Africans an opportunity to send gifts and parcels to their loved ones down under.
A Spokesperson for the South African Post Office (SAPO) Johan Kruger says this will be the last chance to send goods via airmail to Australia as there are no regular flights between the two countries.
He says customers must hand in items at their local post office no later than the 17th of November.
Kruger says items that miss the flight will be forwarded to Australia by surface mail which can take up to six weeks.
Items containing animal or plant products, medication or any illegal substance are prohibited as well as liquids that may leak or explode.
