A local model who used the "K" word in a rant on twitter has earned the ire of South Africans, the attentions of the human rights commission and to top it off, lost her her sponsorship.
Jessica Leandra who was last year's FHM's model of the year used the racial slur in a tweet following an apparent altercation in a supermarket.
However, despite an apology, Leandra's twitter followers were unforgiving, with many expressing horror at the use of the K-word.
In a tweet one of her sponsors, Quicktrim SA, announced that it would be ending Leandra's sponsorship with immediate effect.
Columnist Mabine Seabe wrote on the social networking site that he had lodged a complaint with the SA Human Rights Commission and they had acknowledged receipt of the complaint.
By Friday afternoon Leandra was trending on Twitter.
