The infamous Gupta brothers have been arrested in Dubai.
The Ministry of Justice and Correctional Services confirmed the news shortly after 8 pm on Monday night.
Spokesperson Chrisping Phiri says they received the information from law enforcement authorities in the United Arab Emirates that fugitives Rajesh and Atul Gupta have been arrested.
He says the South African Government will engage with law enforcement agencies in the UAE to discuss the way forward.
It was almost exactly a year ago when the National Prosecuting Authority (NPA) applied to Interpol to assist them in executing arrest warrants for Atul Gupta and his wife Chetali, as well as Rajesh Gupta and his wife Arti.
The Gupta family has become synonymous with State Capture and had a close relationship with former President Jacob Zuma.
