A 27-year-old woman is currently in police custody in Australia after she was arrested at the Perth Airport for swallowing a kilogram of cocaine.
A commander for the Australian Border Force Kate Ferry says the 27-year-old woman from Austria arrived in the country earlier this month.
She says officers at the airport became suspicious and escorted the woman to a local hospital where she excreted 124 pellets of cocaine, over a period of two days, under medical supervision.
Ferry says it was later established that the woman had excreted and re-swallowed eight of the pellets during her journey to Australia.
She says it is the third foreign national arrested in the last three months who ingested drugs in order to get them into the country.
The suspect must be back in court on the 10th of March and if found guilty she could be sentenced to 25 years.
