Australian Open
The Australian government has revoked Novak Djokovic's visa for a second time following new information brought to light earlier this week.
The draw for the Australian Open which starts on Monday was briefly delayed on Thursday due to uncertainty of the Serb's status in the country.
The Minister for Immigration, Citizenship, Migrant Services and Multicultural Affairs Alex Hawke released a statement on Friday stating that it was in the public interest to revoke the visa.
He said they were committed to protecting the borders of the country.
Hawke said in his statement he carefully considered all the information provided to him by the Department of Home Affairs, The Australian Border Force and Mr Djokovic himself.
Djokovic has not yet responded to the latest developments.
The top seed and nine-time Australian Open champion was drawn to play his fellow countryman, Miomir Kecmanovic on Monday.
The unvaccinated tennis star has been embroiled in controversy since his arrival in Australia.
