International broadcaster CNN has named Cape Town as one of the world's top ten most loved cities.

The others include Paris, Tokyo, Montreal and New York.

Western Cape Tourism Minister, Alan Windee, says the CNN accolade will further increase Cape Town's exposure to international markets.

He says in the last year there's been a 14% increase in international tourist arrivals in the Mother City.

Windee says tourism contributes 10 percent to the provincial GDP.
