Biden next President elect of the USA

Twitter

Democrat Joe Biden is projected to win the 2020 Presidential election and become the 46th President-elect of the United States of America.

US broadcast media made the projects as Biden passed the required 270 electoral votes needed, while several world leaders sent messages of congratulations.

The Pennsylvania-born Biden, who was vice-president under the first Black president, Barrack Obama, received more votes than any candidate has ever received in a presidential election, according to the Independent.

Kamala Harris will also become the first woman vice-president-elect.

“America, I’m honored that you have chosen me to lead our great country.  The work ahead of us will be hard, but I promise you this: I will be a President for All Americans – whether you voted for me or not.  I will keep the faith you have placed in me,” Biden said in a Tweet.

The President-elect also said that he’s aware that “tensions can be high after a tough election like we just had.  But we need to remain calm. Patient,” he said.

Opponent Donald Trump declared in a Tweet that: “I won this election by a lot”.

Over the past few days, Trump has also made unsubstantiated claims of election fraud and vowed to go to the Supreme Court.

Trump also underlined that states have not yet certified the results and his campaign has launched multiple legal challenges.
