To mark World Hearing Day, 3rd March, the World Health Organisation has released guidelines to prevent billions from experiencing hearing loss - in their line of fire – clubs and pubs.
The health chiefs are calling on nightclubs and bars to provide their patrons with earplugs saying that hearing loss is on the rise with loud sounds causing damage to the ear resulting in hearing loss or a ringing in the ears, also known as tinnitus.
It warned that unless we inculcate a culture of ‘safe listening’, around one billion under-35s risk experiencing hearing loss.
