WhatsApp is rolling out a view once’ feature for images and videos on Android as of today 30th June to make messaging more private.
The feature will allow photos and videos sent using this mode to only be viewed once, disappearing from the chat after you dismiss the photo or the video.
How to verify if the feature is already enabled for your WhatsApp account? Just check if there is a view once button when sharing the media.
WhatsApp beta for Android 2.21.14.3 is marked as a compatible version, if it’s not available for your WhatsApp account, you will apparently have to wait for the next updates.
The feature, already used on Instagram, also allows users to verify if the content has been viewed by the recipient.
The view once feature will also work if media is sent to users who do not have the feature enabled yet.
