Boasting a massive 12 million followers on the social media platform, 32-year-old Sam Ryder has been announced as the UK’s entry to this year’s Eurovision Contest with a song called ‘Space Man.’
The long-haired Essex lad will represent his country at the 66th Eurovision to be held in Turin, Italy, this year.
Ryder has TikTok to thank for his rise to fame, it was during the first lockdown of the COVID-19 pandemic in March 2020 that he began posting his music covers, by the end of the same year he had become the most followed artist on the popular platform, leading him to sign a record contract with Parlophone and management agency TaP Music.
