'Let the games begin'! Our Springbok Captain, Siya Kolisi, has issued a lockdown cleaning challenge to all South African men via his Instagram page.
Kolisi shared a video of himself mopping the floor and asked for men to help around the house and tag him with the proof, he wrote, "Starting a challenge for men! Tag me in your house cleaning or cooking posts and you could win a signed rugby t-shirt. Also, drop your hashtag options below for this challenge."
Aside from Kolisi’s uplifting lockdown clips on social media during this trying time, together with his wife Rachel, they have shown their compassionate and generous natures. The Siya Kolisi Foundation was launched this year to provide protective equipment to healthcare workers and distribute much-needed food parcels to those severely impacted by the pandemic.
Get cleaning gents – that T-shirt will go the way of the post that Kolisi likes best.
PS: Anyone else love the shaved head look on Kolisi? Here’s how that went down!
On a more serious note, it is unfortunate that the majority of domestic workers have been unable to return to work at Level 4. Currently only live-in domestic workers may return (but once they return, they may not commute home until the alert level is lowered). Domestic workers who are responsible for the care of children, the elderly, and persons with disabilities, physical or mental illness may also return to work at this level.
