A rescue dog turned police mascot has become an overnight star thanks to the internet and his devoted owner, Rio police officer Cristiano Oliveira.
Affectionately called "Corporal Oliveira," the mixed breed dog was found by Cristiano abandoned, injured, and starving on a street close to the Rio de Janeiro Military Police station 3 years ago.
The loveable pooch, decked out in a police uniform, a toy gun, and sunglasses, has since become the official mascot of the Military Police's 17th battalion.
The four-legged officer now has his own Instagram account with over 117 000 followers ,and counting, and judging by this clip, he takes his job very seriously!
