The Duke of Cambridge has used his public platform to speak out against billionaires like Jeff Bezos, Elon Musk, and Richard Branson, and their ‘space race,’ saying they should rather be using their billions to save this planet.

His criticism came not long after Star Trek's William Shatner was applauded for having become the oldest man to be sent into orbit in Amazon billionaire Bezos's Blue Origin New Shepard rocket on Thursday 13 October. Speaking to a BBC Newscast about the new space race, William said: "We need some of the world’s greatest brains and minds fixed on trying to repair this planet, not trying to find the next place to go and live."

Shatner, at 90 years of age, become the oldest person in space and was greeted when he touched back down on earth by the tycoon who is an avid Star Trek fan. An emotional Shatner’s image was beamed across the globe as he said, "Everybody in the world needs to see this".

However, space tourism for the rich and famous is being blasted by many with Prince William being one of the first to speak out about the trip.

Take a look right here.
