WATCH: Pink Floyd's David Gilmour auctions guitars - raises millions to fight climate change

Celebrity muso, Pink Floyd's David Gilmour, posted a video of himself offering his guitars up for auction to raise money to fight climate change and before he knew it, he had raised just over R300 million rand in an effort to save our planet from the threat of global warming.

The items included guitars by Fender, Rickenbacker, Ovation, Gibson, C.F. Martin and Gretsch as well as a banjo and amps. A black Stratocaster — dubbed the “Black Strat” — was the top item and was bought for about R56 000, a new world record for a guitar at auction.

All the proceeds went to ClientEarth, an NPO fighting climate change.
