Watch out Mariah – here comes Cher – the lead song from her first Christmas album is already a No. 1 hit!

Cher has launched her first-ever holiday album called Christmas

Seventy-seven-year-old Cher has joined the growing list of celebrities who have released Christmas albums.

For the Believe singer, this is her first album in five years and for a seventh straight decade, the iconic singer has earned a new No. 1 on a Billboard songs chart, as her track, DJ Play a Christmas Song, jingles 3-1 on the Dec. 2-dated Dance/Electronic Song Sales survey.

The track is the lead single from the pop diva’s first-holiday album, Christmas. This also means that Cher joins the Rolling Stones with at least one new No. 1 on a Billboard songs chart in each of the seven decades from the 1960s through the 2020s.

Why a Christmas album at this stage in her career? Cher has the answer on her Instagram page.

On Christmas, Cher has an all-star lineup of collaborators – there’s Cyndi Lauper on Put A Little Holiday In Your Heart, Stevie Wonder on What Christmas Means to Me, Darlene Love on Christmas (Baby, Please Come Home), Michael Buble on Home, and even the rapper Tyga on Drop Top Sleigh Ride.

Take a listen to the hit song right here.

Cher is a singer, actress, and cultural icon who got her start in the '60s as one-half of Sonny & Cher, after which she  launched a solo career that's spawned 12 Top 10 hits on four chart-toppers, including the 1999 track "Believe."
