The Ndlovu Youth Choir is sharing a message of hope for South Africa following the violent protests witnessed across the country in the past couple of days. The protests and looting followed former President Jacob Zuma's incarceration, with his supporters calling for him to be released from jail.
This violent and destructive protest action that unfolded across Gauteng and Kwa Zulu Natal has left many South Africans feeling anxious and fearful, 72 people are reported to have lost their lives.
In the hopes of uniting South Africans in song, the choir decided to share a heartfelt rendition of the Zulu song Mangisondele Nkosi Yam – it translates to - Let Me Be Nearer My Lord.
Their post was accompanied by the caption, "We pray for peace in our beautiful land during these difficult times. God bless South Africa."
