After witnessing first-hand the deplorable situation in Tafilsig, Mitchell’s Plain, a situation echoed across countless communities in South Africa, Lottering decided that he could no longer sit by and do nothing.
He has been working with an NPO called Ladles of Love, a volunteer-run organisation tasked with feeding thousands of homeless and destitute people across the Western Cape, but it was after paying a visit to Joanie Fredericks, a Mitchell’s plain community activist, that he decided to pen ‘What About The People ?”
Taking to Instagram Lottering asked that in the meantime, we all help wherever we can,” Tafelsig is but one of many areas all over the country in a similarly dire situation. While we wait on Government, help wherever you can. If you are a registered NPO/soup kitchen and you need help, put your area and email address in the comment section below and perhaps someone on the page is able to assist #WhatAboutThePeople
It’s goosebumps stuff – watch the video and add your voice to this cry for help by sharing it far and wide – let this not fall on deaf ears, Mr President.
