Tuesday marked the one-year anniversary of George Floyd’s tragic death at the hands of former Minneapolis police officer Derek Chavin – Washington was one of a host of celebrities who took to social media to remember his untimely passing.
She posted two heartfelt tributes as well as a video spanning nine minutes and 29-seconds - the amount of time Chauvin knelt on Floyd’s neck.

Thousands of people marked the first anniversary of Floyd’s death with marches and vigils across the US while in Minneapolis, the city Floyd died in, he was honoured with a moment’s silence. Mourners also gathered later at Minneapolis’s George Floyd Memorial Square for a candlelight vigil in his honour.
