The first official trailer to this highly anticipated Netflix original series has dropped – ‘Jiva’ is a high-energy drama all about the trials and tribulations of talented street dancer Ntombi, played by Noxolo Dlamini. The first episode will air on Netflix on 24 June and promises to feature South African dance culture like you’ve never seen before.
Dlamini said of the series, “Here is our gift to you South Africa and the world! We hope to inspire as well as entertain. May we make you proud Mzansi”.
The proud thespian took to Instagram to post the trailer and give us a hint of what the series is all about saying, “ “A talented street dancer (Ntombi played by Yours Truly) struggles while juggling the demands of a dead-end job, family responsibilities, and a rocky love life. When she discovers a dance competition with a cash prize, she realizes that her moves could be the ticket out of her working-class neighborhood in Durban. But first, she must overcome her fears, beat her rivals, and sort out the chaos that is her family.“
