The news that former Wales and British and Irish Lions rugby captain Gareth Thomas was blackmailed into publicly announcing that he is HIV positive has seen the 45-year-old garner support from across the globe.
Thomas released an emotional video via social media explaining the reasons for his now wanting to help remove some of the stigmas that still surround the disease. Thomas came out as gay in 2009.
According to Sky News, more than three and a half million people have watched the video he posted online on Saturday night. His pain can clearly be seen as he says, "I am living with HIV," he said. "Now you have that information it makes me vulnerable, but it does not make me weak."
