The two 'sirs' are doing their bit for their country by appearing in a tongue in cheek NHS video to encourage all of Britain to get vaccinated against COVID-19. Sir Elton John and Sir Michael Caine are seen in the video encouraging everyone to get the jab, attesting to the fact that it is easily administered and proven to be safe.
Elton at 73, and Michael at 87 , have already been vaccinated and now, after giving more than 15 million people their first dose, the NHS vaccination programme is moving onto the next phase.
The NHS is now asking anyone aged 70 or over who has not yet been vaccinated to contact their GP about the jab. Notification is being sent to those aged over 65 and the medically at risk to invite them to receive the first dose of their COVID-19 vaccine.
It comes a day after the UK achieved its goal of giving at least one dose of the vaccine to the 15 million people most at risk from the disease by mid-February. Well done Britain!
