In honor of FTD awareness week, Emma Willis opened up about her role as a carer for her husband in her first interview since he was diagnosed with frontotemporal dementia.
Emma was interviewed by the Today Show and shared this clip on social media saying: "My mission is to raise awareness for frontotemporal dementia. While this is a heavy subject I feel it’s for the greater good. I’m so very grateful to the @todayshow and @hodakotb for having Susan and I on today to educate and raise awareness about FTD while letting our community know that they are not alone.

In February of this year, the 67-year-old Hollywood A-lister’s family released a statement confirming that Willis was suffering from dementia and announcing that he would be withdrawing from public life.
Frontotemporal dementia (FTD), causes changes to personality, behavior, language, memory, and movement, due to the areas of the brain that it affects (the frontal and temporal lobes).
There are also physical effects, such as slowness of movement, loss of bladder and bowel control, and muscle weakness.
As with other forms of dementia, the condition degenerates slowly at first but then gradually gets worse over the years.
