Invited to perform by President Volodymyr Zelensky, the U2 bandmates performed the concert in a Kyiv metro station that is doubling as a bomb shelter.
Their performance included the Ben E King classic Stand By Me together with members of the Ukrainian band Antytila.
After the gig Bono told Sky News on a visit to a war-ravaged town that "younger people in Russia will know what's going on."
