Jim Jarmusch and the cast of 'The Dead Don't Die' which includes the all-star line up of Selena Gomez, Bill Murray, Adam Driver, Chloe Sevigny and Tilda Swinton took to the red before attending the premiere of the movie.
The festival's opening film has been described as a dark zombie comedy that satirically attacks leading world authorities and their stance on climate change and immigration policies. It centres around a zombie apocalypse brought about by "polar fracking" that sends the Earth off its axis.
The winner will be awarded the esteemed Palme d'Or prize at the festival finale on the 25th May.
