The Miss South Africa competition is finally up and running as five former Miss South Africa winners officially launched the 2019 event which will take place on Women’s Day, Friday, 9 August.
This after many weeks of speculation following Cell C pulling out of the Miss SA pageant as a sponsor.
The five are Miss SA 2010 Bokang Montjane-Tshabalala; Miss SA & Miss World 2014 Rolene Strauss; Miss SA 2015 Liesl Laurie; Miss SA 2016 Ntando Kunene-Mthethwa; and the current Miss South Africa, Tamaryn Green.
The prize money and sponsorships include R1 million cash and a car for the winner, while the runner-up will receive R250 000 cash and the Top 16 receiving R25 000 each.
The 2019 Miss SA pageant will be held at the Sun Arena at Times Square, Pretoria, and will be aired live on both M-Net and Mzansi Magic.
Entries are open and will close on 10 June. Those interested in entering can go to www.misssa.co.za.
The 'fab five' took to Twitter to spread the good news.
