Dubbed the singing policeman, Thapelo Molomo has made it through to the finals of season 18 of the popular reality series.
Trauma counselor by day and singing sensation by night, Warrant Officer Molomo, a psychologist at the South African Police Service Employee Health and Wellness Centre in Brits, North West Province, is a huge step closer to realizing his dream of taking home the title.
The 29-year-old has taken Idols Season 18 by storm with his vocal talent and exciting stage performances. The police officer, who hails from the streets of Dipetsaneng Village, close to Mokopane in Limpopo Province, has proved to be a hit with both the judges and public alike.
Thapelo, who joined the SAPS in 2021, told Idols SA that he is a perfectionist and has spent the last couple of years honing his music skills. Describing himself as ‘humble and dedicated’, he hopes that these qualities will put him in good stead to take home the Idols Season 18 title. He is now up against Nozi for the coveted title.
Molomo sang his new single, Phanda first, moving on to Hugh Masekela's Thanayi, and then The Beatles' Let It Be.
