In a major step in the right direction for the protection of animal rights, a 6-month direct imprisonment sentence was imposed yesterday, October 13, on animal abuser Malizole Ngcelwana.
As their statement on Facebook reads the organization said;” Animal Anti-Cruelty League secured another court conviction on 13 October 2022, this time with a six-month direct imprisonment sentence, a punishment that fits the crime”.
The NPO went on to thank State Prosecutor, Mr. Thando Gqamana, “for his commitment and excellence in this matter, arguing for those who cannot speak for themselves.”
AACL’s Liza Simpson added: “We hope that this outcome will be a warning to animal abusers and inspire animal owners to stand up and be the voice for their animals”.
