Harper Lee’s ‘To Kill a Mockingbird’ has been voted No.1 in the PBS ‘The Great American Read’ survey.
The six-month-long survey received more than four million votes. It was conducted on 7 000 American readers, with an advisory panel of experts organising the 100-book list.
The other top-five finishers include Diana Gabaldon’s “Outlander” series; J.K. Rowling’s “Harry Potter”; Jane Austen’s “Pride and Prejudice”; and J.R.R. Tolkien’s “The Lord of the Rings.”
“To Kill a Mockingbird” has sold more than 40 million copies worldwide and remains a fixture on school reading lists.
