Lauren Jauregui has launched her solo career with her first official debut single and video 'Expectations'.
The 22-year-old singer is a member of Fifth Harmony and the second to go solo. The group is currently on hiatus.
In an interview with Rolling Stone, Jauregui said that her single's name has a double meaning. Lyrically, it is about getting your heart repeatedly broken by a dishonest partner. It also holds meaning in the expectations that fans have for her since the announcement of Fifth Harmony's break.
"There’s this whole precedent that there should be some sort of expectation of what’s to come, but it’s very unexpected. It’s not what everyone assumes I’m gonna be making, which is why I love it.”
