According to his representatives, the Irish-born actor died on Sunday in Italy, the circumstances surrounding his death are not clear at this stage.
Stevenson’s film credits include Rome, Vikings, Punisher: War Zone, the Thor films, Star Wars: The Clone Wars, and the Oscar-winning RRR.
The RRR team took to Twitter to pay tribute saying: “He was 56 years old when we were shooting this difficult scene but he did not hesitate while performing this stunt. We will forever cherish having you on the sets of #RRR, Ray Stevenson”.

Stevenson leaves behind three sons whom he had with Italian anthropologist Elisabetta Caraccia.
