Always full of surprises, Hollywood icon & jazz pianist Jeff Goldblum today announces he has teamed up with global superstar singer, songwriter and actress Miley Cyrus for his new song, ‘The Thrill is Gone,’ to be released on the 1st November on Decca Records.
When planning his second album, Jeff suggested the collaboration to his friend Miley. The unlikely duo have recorded a brand new version of ‘The Thrill is Gone’, previously recorded by Chet Baker. Miley’s powerful and characterful voice is sensitively accompanied by Jeff in his inimitable style.
Jeff has been playing the track for years with his long-time band The Mildred Snitzer Orchestra, but has been waiting for the perfect soloist with whom to record the song, which he has found in Miley.
Speaking about the forthcoming release, Jeff says:
“Hearing the one and only Miley Cyrus sing one of our arrangements is both surreal and mesmerising. I can’t stop listening. It’s perfect.”
This sultry single from the A-listers will appear on Goldblum’s forthcoming album, entitled ‘I Shouldn’t Be Telling You This’, which features an array of remarkable duet partners alongside Miley Cyrus, including Sharon Van Etten and Anna Calvi. Recorded with The Mildred Snitzer Orchestra, the follow-up to his No.1 jazz album last year will also be released on 1st November on Decca Records.
