The PBFSA weighs in on latest mauling to death of child

On Saturday 12 November, a pit bull mauled an  8-year-old boy to death at his home in Vista Park in Bloemfontein. The Pitbull Federation of South Africa is now “urging every pit bull owner who claims to love the breed to become your dogs voice by standing in solidarity with the victim’.

The federation went on to say: “ We urge you to put pressure on the media to start questioning the justice system, we urge you to not post photos of your dog and sing its praises.”

“Until the justice system and lawmakers are brought to account for their failure to act when a dog kills or maims a human being, and until we see criminal charges brought against negligent owners we will not see maulings stop. Pressure needs to be put on the justice system from all sectors of society.”

Watch the clip below as the PBF’s Lins Rautenbach explains many myths about the breed during an interview with Newz Room Afrika.
