Taylor Swift announced on her Instagram account that at midnight (ET) today, which translates to 6am on July 24th for all Swift fans in South Africa, that she will release her 8th studio album titled, 'Folklore'.
The singer posted that, 'Folklore' will have 16 songs on the standard edition, but the physical deluxe editions will include a bonus track called 'The Lakes'.
"Because this is my 8th studio album, I made 8 deluxe CD editions and 8 deluxe vinyl editions that are available for one week. Each deluxe edition has unique covers, photos, and artwork."
These 8 deluxe vinyl editions are available exclusively on the Taylor Swift website.
Swift also posted that fans can look forward to the first single's music video, 'Cardigan'.
Swift shared the following about the single's video, "The music video for 'Cardigan” will premiere tonight.'
If you're wondering how this was possible during the pandemic, Swift wrote and directed the video herself. She was assisted by a video team who she described as "brilliant."
Swift assured fans that everyone on set practiced safe social distancing after acknowledging the team who helped make the video possible.
"Cinematographer Rodrigo Prieto, producer Jil Hardin, executive producer Rebecca Skinner, AD Joe ‘Oz’ Osbourne, editor Chancler Haynes, special effects wizards David Lebensfeld & Grant Miller, and set designer Ethan Tobman."
"The entire shoot was overseen by a medical inspector, everyone wore masks, stayed away from each other, and I even did my own hair, makeup, and styling" says the singer.
