It's been 13 years since Sting has released a new album.
The album is named 57th & 9th after the New York intersection where the studio in which most of the albums material has been written. The context of the album's songs remain true to the singer's liberal outlook, such as 50 000 which was written in the week that Prince was found dead in his Minnesota recording studio, 'Inshallah' which is about the refugees in Europe and 'One Fine Day', a song that targets anyone who denies climate change.
Sting describes his latest album "as rockier than anything he has done in a while".
