The model turned actress starred in the local 2010 movie Spud , had a recurring role in CW's Black Lightning, and stars in the soon-to-be-released Swedish film Triangle of Sadness.
Reports at this point in time are that she died on August 29 of a “sudden illness” in New York City.
She leaves behind her South African boyfriend, Luke Chase Volker, her parents Johan and Joanne Kriek, as well as brother Alexi.
Just seven days ago she posted the clip below on Instagram saying she was "wickedly excited" about a new partnership with Madewell for their Fall campaign.

Triangle of Sadness premiered at the Cannes Festival in May this year where it received an eight-minute standing ovation and won the prestigious Palme d’Or award.
It is scheduled to be released in the United States and Sweden on October 7, in Germany on October 13, and in the United Kingdom on October 28.
Dean was widely tipped to become a superstar in the industry.
