South Africa adds to list of submissions to the Oscars


South Africa is just one of 6 African film submissions to the 2019 Oscars.

The 6 submissions form part of the list of 87 countries who have submitted films to the Oscars under the category, foreign language film.

Nominations for the 91st Academy Awards will be announced on 22 January 2019 and we're holding thumbs for the South African submission, Sew the winter to my skin.

The film follows the true story of John Kepe who is described as a outlaw who terrorised farmers the 1950s in Somerset East, a town located in the Great Karoo in the Eastern Cape of South Africa.
