Rapper Kanye West, who is now going by the name 'Ye' has been invited to the White House by President Donald Trump.
According to the White House press secretary, Sarah Huckabee Sanders, West will have lunch with Trump and meet with Trump's son-in-law, Jared Kushner. They will be talking prison reform, manufacturing and issues around gang violence in Chicago, which happens to be West's hometown.
Trump praised West in a tweet after he appeared on Saturday Night Live wearing his 'Make America Great Again' cap:
“Like many, I don’t watch Saturday Night Live (even though I past hosted it)—no longer funny, no talent or charm. It is just a political ad for the Dems. Word is that Kanye West, who put on a MAGA hat after the show (despite being told ‘no’), was great. He’s leading the charge!”
As usual, the rapper received backlash on social media.
