There’s a proud new mom at Algoa FM House and she’s proudly strutting around with her babies in tow much to the delight of the staff.
Take a look at mamma peahen, pictured in a clip shot by news journalist Deon Blume on Friday morning – it’s sure to bring a smile to your face.
The peacock is the national bird of India and represents the succession of temporal cycles in Hindu cosmogony. And, according to my research, peacocks, also known as peafowl, are most closely related to pheasants.
All peacocks are believed to have originated in Asia, but now inhabit Africa and parts of Australia. They are most common in India and live in deserts, dry savannas, forests, dense foliage areas….and next door to Algoa Fm!
Peacocks are one of the loudest animals on earth, they love to communicate with one another and their cries sound much like cats meowing.
