For the first time, an African Trailblazer of the Year category has been established by the E! People’s Choice Award committee to recognise local charity work carried out in Africa.
And Mzansi’s Kolisi, who triumphantly led the Springboks to victory at the Rugby World Cup in 2019, is being honoured for his remarkable charity work off the field.
Earlier this year, together with his wife Rachel, they formed the Kolisi Foundation with the aim of “serving our local communities with grace and generosity” and to offer “ a place of sanctity, refuge and comfort for those who need it most.” The mission of the foundation is “ dedicated to alleviating extreme poverty, bringing hope to individual hearts and providing opportunities to those with undiscovered talent”.
Kolisi took to Instagram to express his gratitude saying that he was truly honoured to be receiving this award.
