Grammy Award-winning singer/songwriter Brandy is set to release her highly-anticipated new studio album, b7, on July 31, 2020.
'b7' is Brandy’s first full-length release since 'Two Eleven' which was released in 2012. It is also described as her most personal album to date.
With 'b7', Brandy went back to basics. She assembled a small core team. She wrote and produced the entire project with the help of DJ Camper and the late LaShawn Daniels, who helped pen some of her biggest hits including 'The Boy Is Mine' and 'What About Us.'
Working with writers and producers that studied what she’d done in the past gave Brandy the confidence to completely shed herself. She says, “Because this was such a personal project for me, I wanted to make sure the music was right and the best for me."
"I was trying to find my sound, and get to a place where I could express myself as honestly as I could creatively.”
Brandy and Daniel Caesar collaborate in their first-ever co-written song, "Love Again." Brandy sounds perfectly in her velvety zone on the lush ballad produced by Jordan Evans and Matthew Burnett, and it perfectly melds her signature vocals with Caesar's soulful singing.
The single was the first from Caesar's new Case Study 101, and reminds listeners of two truths: Daniel's gifts are still revealing themselves and Brandy's prowess never left.
'Love Again' is an instantly appealing listen, even if the "what if?" remains unresolved.
'b7' is a 15-track confessional exploring Brandy’s journey over the last few years, and how she came to be the resilient, spiritually grounded woman she is today.
