The SAFTA’s committee for the 15th awards edition has announced that the newly introduced online category has brought in the highest number of submissions. A total of forty were recorded for this category after having been through a rigorous audit process. The “Best Made for TV Documentary Award”, also a new category received 14 submissions.
Despite what has been a challenging year for the industry due to the global pandemic, the SAFTA committee is pleased with the entry numbers in every category for this year's awards.
Dr. Janet van Eeden, SAFTAs Co-Overall Chair said of the entries, “We are pleased with the response to this new category as it is proof that our industry has quickly adapted to global trends. We are also pleased to be where were are with the planning for SAFTAs 15 given the very many disruptions to the industry."
